Seismic studies

Seismic methods serve to estimate rock structure and its elasticity properties. Nowadays, several methods are being used for subsoil analysis. The most outstanding are Seismic Refraction and Reflection, either on surface or in depth level.

Method applications:
  • Landfill cubage and demarcation.
  • Substratum rippability determination.
  • Slope and landslide stability assessment.
  • Land stratigraphy.
  • Groundwater table location.
  • Geological structures modelling.
  • Civil engineering use (ports, roads, canals, etc...)
  • Mineral resources evaluation.
  • Pile acknowledgement.
Common tests:
  • Seismic Refraction profiles (Vs and Vp)
  • Seismic Reflection profiles.
  • Seismic tomography.
  • Passive seismic studies.
  • Shaft or well testing.
